Almost twenty years ago Angela Free began a photography business on her own. It grew from there and almost twenty years later she passed the torch of ownership on to fellow photographer Cindy Pando.
The studio has trained the photographers to see things a little differently. When we shoot, we "shoot for the album." We want all your images to be fantastic! Every client has a meaningful story to share and it's our goal to capture those moments for you to do just that.
Studio 1401 has grown into a team, or family as we like to call it. There are always four to five artists that make up our unique studio. We don't worry about who captured the shot, designed the graphics, or created the final product. When our clients are happy, we have succeeded in doing our job. Teamwork is the basic ingredient to this company. We are proud of this and believe it really sets us apart from the crowd.
Cindy worked with Angela for several years. She has learned her skills from Angela personally and at training events such as WPPI and a recent event with internationally renowned photographer, Jerry Ghionis. She has all aspects of the studio under her belt; from scheduling appointments, meeting clients for wedding consultations, and of course photographing all genres of sessions we offer.
Cindy is a little firecracker. You've heard "good things come in small packages?" That is Cindy in a nutshell. A native of Midland, Cindy has close ties with her family here. As a single mom of two, Sebastian and Emily, she understands that family plays a huge part in everything we do. Her pets are fond of her as well. They have two Husky's, Gunner and Sandy, and a pig, Izzy. If you ask the girls at the studio, we as her team, are also an extension of her family. We all get along and work together really well. We're looking forward to working with you!

What type of photography do you just love to shoot? Being able to snuggle sweet little bundles of joy puts a smile in my heart. I love newborns especially!
What do you feel is the key to a great image? Emotion! When you see a photograph that makes you feel something I believe it's a great image. Not only is it meaningful, but if it's an image you've had taken and recalling that memory sparks an emotion...Boom!
Tell us why you enjoy living in Midland/Odessa? When we were deciding to move here we visited Southwest Baptist Church between Midland and Odessa. The church family took us in from that very first visit. Pastor and Mrs. Gunter are real. We like that and we are very active there. And the initial reason we moved here at all is my brother-in-law's family with our three little nephews was already here. Bonus, we moved my mom here shortly after!
Sara, Photographer, Graphic Artist

Favorite family activity: Traveling, I love road trips and flying anywhere!
Best on the job training moment: I was working a wedding with Cindy and shortly after the wedding started it was pouring rain; I had no idea what we were going to do. I learned that even if everything is going wrong we always do our absolute best to get the shot.

What type of photography do you just love to shoot? Weddings.
What do you feel is the key to a great image? There are so many different opinions when it comes to the key to getting a great image, there truly are dozens of answers. I do believe that the key to a great image is establishing a relationship with the client.
Tell us why you enjoy living in Midland/Odessa? I love to call Midland/Odessa my home because I feel like there is no other place like this. I live in that wonderful place known as Midessa, right in between the two, and I have been here my entire life.
